Joyce Chen

Joyce Chen joined Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall LLP as an Associate in the Litigation Group after being called to the Ontario Bar in 2026. She previously summered and completed her articles with the Firm before returning as an Associate.
Joyce earned her Juris Doctor from Western University’s Faculty of Law. During law school, she developed her interest in litigation and advocacy through several mooting and advocacy competitions, including the Hicks Morley Labour and Employment Moot and the BLG Client Consultation Competition. She also worked as a Research Assistant, examining legal issues related to the best interests of children in medical decision-making.
Prior to law school, Joyce earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts with High Distinction from the University of Toronto, where she completed a double major in Ethics, Society and Law and Health Studies. She also gained experience with the Government of Canada, working with both Canadian Heritage and Employment and Social Development Canada. These roles strengthened her research, analytical and client service skills and gave her experience working with complex information in fast-paced environments.
As a member of the Litigation Group, Joyce is building a broad practice across general litigation matters. She brings a thoughtful and detail-oriented approach to her work and is committed to providing clients with practical guidance as they navigate disputes and complex legal issues. Joyce is pleased to service clients in both English and French.
